Yes, because we are monitoring how many people are in the gym at any given time. What was our check-in station in the past is now our check-out kiosk. Please use your member card to check-out.
We have sectioned off different zones throughout the gym. Each zone allows for one climber and one belayer, spotter, or family unit per zone. We encourage you to still do safety checks, say hi to friends while maintaining a 6 ft distance (Air fives, air hugs, waving, are all encouraged).
All students who had purchased a spring membership have automatically extended until August 14th. If you have any special circumstances, please give us a call.

We encourage climbers to sanitize or wash their hands upon entry and before leaving the gym. We also, strongly encourage climbers to sanitize their hands before and after a climb; sanitizing stations are located throughout the facility for your use. Please you either catch your sneeze or cough in your mask or bend of your elbow, depending on what current restrictions are in place.
Yes, our gear shops are open in both the Midtown and North gyms. Please know that for some items, we carry different sections in each shop, so let us know what you are looking for, as we may have it at the other location.
As of the beginning of July 2020, we are offering some instructional classes for a limited number of participants. The number of participants will vary depending on what restrictions are in place at the time. Classes will be scheduled based on the demand and a deposit will be needed to organize the class. Please call the front desk to schedule; you can reach the Midtown gym at (505) 341-2016 and the North gym at (505) 209-2081.
Currently, we are not offering the birthday package. However, you can make reservations for a group climb. On your first visit to Stone Age, our professional instructors will guide you through the basics of the autobelay systems and bouldering terrain during your complimentary gym orientation. Here you will receive a tour of our facilities, learn our gym rules and how to use the autobelay equipment properly. We have locker rooms and cubbies throughout the facility for you to place your belongings. You’re welcome to ask your guide questions to get a better understanding about rock climbing and how it can transform your new alternative fitness lifestyle.
get this question a lot and recommend you climb in comfortable athletic clothing. Yoga pants or gym shorts are great to wear under a harness. A long t-shirt or tank top is recommended to be able to tuck under the harness’s waist strap. Closed toed shoes are required if you don’t want to rent our climbing shoes. Always come with socks, in case you want to try our climbing shoes for a better experience.
If you already have experience and would like to take a belay test, please see our front desk and ask for availability. Belay tests can be done at any time at no cost. We expect active adult supervision of any child under the age of 14 at all times. Kids around the age of 6 and older tend to have a better time than younger children due to their maturity and size. But all ages are welcome to climb at Stone Age. However, we have 70-year-olds climbing every day. Again, we expect everyone to understand their limitations and to climb at their own risk.
We have a variety of prices to meet your needs. If you’re looking for a casual, walk-in experience, you’re welcome to utilize our day pass rates. Non-members are allowed to come in from noon to closing and all day Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to closing. Please note that closing hours change so please check our website for hours at the time your visit. However, we’re pretty sure you will love it here so if you’re curious how you can utilize the facilities more, check out our Memberships page for information.
