Youth Climbing Programs
Want to enroll your child in a sports activity that not only builds strength, but also teaches them life skills such as perseverance, maintaining focus, and problem solving? One that helps them build a life view that is based on a “never give up” attitude? The confidence that they build while scaling the vertical walls and reaching their goals is something that will last beyond a session of rock climbing while simultaneously immersing them in a community of fitness and outdoor lovers – and having a lot of fun in the process.
We would love to work with you to match your child’s temperament, physical abilities, and time availability with one of our year-round youth programs. We offer a wide range of activities, fit for the aspiring young climber just starting off to the seasoned competitive athlete. We can help you and your child transform today’s short-term goals into a long-term active lifestyle.
Here is a brief description of our programs:
- NM Mojo Recreational Climbing Club; this program services kids ages 7-17 years old, divided by age groups: elementary, middle, and high school; there are no prerequisites for participation. You can access the waitlist for Elementary School here, for Middle School here, and for High School here
- NM Mojo Climbing Academy; this program services kids 6-13 years old, divided by age groups; there are a few prerequisites for participation
- NM Mojo Competition Team; this competition team is composed of youth athletes ages 9-18 who are committed to train for competitive rock climbing and admission is by invitation after try outs
- Lil' Rockers; this program is for kids ager 4-5 and is an introductory program with no prerequisites. You can access the waitlist for Lil' Rockers here.
These are events that take place monthly and are designed to support the young members of the climbing community. While it is only a drop-in day, this format provides a space for similarly aged youth to find friends while finding common ground doing something they enjoy. If you think any of these options would benefit your child, let us help you determine the program that best fits your child’s (and yours) schedule and needs. Who knows, maybe climbing will become a passion that provides a much-needed balance between the demands of school and staying healthy with a physical pursuit that can become a lifelong passion.
