The Yank-N-Yard is the first stop of the USAC National Cup Series

Stone Age Climbing Gym is proud to announce that the Yank-N-Yard has been selected to be the first stop of the inaugural season of the USA Climbing National Cup Series of professional bouldering competitions for the second year. The National Cup Series will include four competitions leading up to Bouldering Open National Championships in Salt Lake City, UT in February 2018.

Each event of the National Cup Series will have a cash purse of $10,000 and USA Climbing will be awarding another $10,000 at the conclusion of the series. Kynan Waggoner, USA Climbing’s CEO says, “Top 8 will go to Finals in each event and we will have a season ranking updated after each competition. After Bouldering Open National Championships in SLC, we’ll see where the rankings stand and award our $10,000 Cup Series purse.”

Open Category Registration

EVENT SCHEDULE

We start the event on Friday evening with an Open Category redpoint qualifier round for a chance to compete in the finals for cash. While the Open category is obviously a serious competition, the Youth and Citizens’ rounds are more about gathering with friends and achieving your personal best. All Youth and Citizens’ competitors are entered into our prize raffle with an equal chance to win your share of over $5000 in prizes.

We kick off Saturday with a USA Climbing sanctioned local youth bouldering competition in the morning before the Citizens’ competition for adult recreational climbers in the afternoon. The dual rounds will help distribute the crowd and allow everyone to climb to their heart’s content or the capacity of their skin, which ever comes first. In the evening, everyone joins the party and gathers around for the main event, the Open Finals!
