When we release tension and holding patterns, we are able to work with more integrity and build true, sustainable strength. This class is great for anyone who wants to increase mobility, flexibility and breath capacity. Through a combination of Yin yoga poses, tennis ball self-massage, and intentional breath, you will cultivate deep opening and release in your connective tissues, fascia, and joints. We will focus on areas that tend to be tight and over-worked for many athletes. You’ll walk away from this workshop with tools which can be easily taken into your regular wellness and fitness routine, feeling blissfully restored and open.

You will leave with a practical understanding of experiential anatomy and biomechanics of shoulder strength and stability. Partner Yoga is two or more people joining together to deepen the experience of yoga through our essential need for touch. We practice with a friend, a lover, a yoga partner or our community! It can be a romantic experience, or simply a way for family and friends to connect and make yoga more fun. In Partner Yoga we connect to each other in new and fun ways, we help one another in strengthening exercises, we stretch farther than usual with our partners help, balance in ways we could not by ourselves, and breathe deeply together. Yoga works on many levels and is a journey of discovery, of ourselves and our interdependence. Each one of us is a whole universe to be explored through this practice.

Are you curious to learn more about yoga history and yoga philosophy? As you deepen your yoga practice you come to understand yoga is much more than just asana (the physical poses we do). You may have heard your teachers mention the eight limbs, the yoga sutras, or they may have read quotes from the Bhagavad Gita . This workshop will cover basic yoga history, important texts of yoga philosophy, how philosophy meets the physical practice, and more. This workshop is a great place to get started with the basics of yoga philosophy, ask questions and choose a path to dive deeper.

Awaken your consciousness to the theta state between dream and wakefulness. Experience deep relaxation. Yoga nidra is a meditation practice where we plant a sankalpa (a seed we wish to grow in our life) and delve into a deeply relaxing state in between wakefulness and sleep to help the subconscious heal aspects which may be holding it back. In this workshop, we will learn how to formulate our sankalpas, find ourselves comfortably in the hammocks, and then go into the yoga nidra practice for the rest of the time.

This year, once again, this event will benefit the Barrett Foundation. In future posts, we will be sharing information about this organization and their goals.
